So you've decided to come to Grenada?

Tips for travellers & some other things you should know before you arrive...

This page updated: 09 Aug 2011 06:31 AM

Taxi from the airport is approximately US $20.  Tell them "Lance Aux Epines Cottages", they all know where we are located.  Click Here for location map.

If you would like a Food & Drinks Hamper in your cottage/apartment please email this request to us.   We have coffee makers in all of our rooms and we provide a initial complimentary supply of regular coffee, coffee filters, sugar and a small tin of evaporated milk.

If you haven't done so already, please let us know of your flight number and arrival time, so we know when to expect you.  Our check-in time is 3:00 pm or later and our check-out time is 12:00 noon.  If you are arriving in the evening (6:00 pm or later) then we will probably leave the key with the night watchman who will show you to your cottage/apartment.  If your flight is departing late and you wish to have the use of your room after 12:00 noon, it is possible to reserve a late check-out.  This is subject to availability, please email us to reserve late check-out.

Each of our cottages and apartments have an Internet connection available.  If you need to keep in touch, you might want to bring your laptop computer.  Alternatively we have a computer with Internet access in our TV/Game Room

There are two mobile phone service providers: Digicel and Cable & Wireless.  If you need to keep in touch and have a compatible phone you might want to bring this with you.  We also have a limited number of mobile phones available on a first come, first served basis; these phones use pre-paid credit that is available for purchase from various locations around the island.

The following items are available in Grenada but probably cheaper to purchase before you leave home:

  1. Snorkelling Equipment.
  2. Mosquito Repellent.
  3. Sun-block Lotion.
  4. Beach toys (plastic spade, shovel, inflatable toys, etc.) for the kids.
  5. A few nice books to read on the beach.
  6. Power adapter/voltage converter (only if travelling from USA/Canada see below).

We provide beach towels, bath towels and face cloths so you don't need to bring these items with you.  We ask that our towels not leave the premises, so if you need a towel to go to some other beach you should bring this with you.  We supply all cleaning materials, small hand soap, toilet paper, mosquito coils and bug zapping spray (not repellent).

The electricity here is 230 Volt 60 Hz and the socket outlets in the rooms are the UK style square 3 pin type.  There is a 230/115 volt shaver outlet and a hairdryer in each bathroom.  If you are from the US or Canada and have things that you need to plug in you might want to purchase a voltage converter.  Generally there are two different types: Ones for electronic equipment and ones for heating type appliances AND they are used with these plug adapters.

We can arrange car rental for you.  Click Here for more info.

Occasionally luggage is delayed or misplaced. For this reason it is a good idea to pack essential items in your hand luggage.  You might want to include swimwear, one or two light shirts and shorts...

The easiest and most convenient way to enter Grenada is with a valid passport!  If you are travelling from the USA, Canada or Britain it is possible to enter with a birth certificate AND some other form of photographic identification that is officially recognised by the country you are from (for example, valid drivers license or voters registration).  Both of these must be original documents, not a fax or photocopy.  Entry into Grenada also requires a return or onward ticket.  You do not need a visa if you are a citizen of USA, Canada, UK, British Commonwealth, Caribbean countries (except Cuba), most European countries, South Korea, and Japan.
